How to Create a Strengths-Based Marketing Team {Podcast}

Strengths-Based Marketing - Blue Kite Marketing

Welcome back to The Marketing Huddle! We’re excited to be back with a new episode after taking a short break over the holidays.

The extra time off also gave us some time to re-focus our efforts. This year, we’re taking a slightly different approach to The Marketing Huddle. We’re ditching our short, snappy episodes and going back to where we started with longer, more in-depth conversations.

But, it’s not just the length of the episodes that are changing; we’re also going deeper with the topic of marketing. That means
 you won’t be hearing surface-level conversations from us about getting more “likes” on social platforms or discovering the latest, greatest tool or tactic.

Instead, we want to get the heart of what makes marketing and businesses great. We are rolling up our sleeves and helping you get to the heart of the issues that really matter most to your business.

And that’s where we’re starting back up today.

The Power of a Strong Marketing Team

We believe the key element to a successful marketing strategy isn’t platforms, media, or even message.

It’s the “huddle” that creates the strategy
 and executes the tactics. A great team can make a good strategy great.
 A bad team can turn a great strategy into a disaster.

So, how do you build an all-star marketing team?

It starts by understanding the strengths of your team and how to use them to your benefit. We believe that a strengths-based marketing approach can be the difference maker for your business.

Here’s what we discussed on the show:

  • How to identify your strengths and why it is important;
  • How to use your strengths to your advantage;
  • Why understanding the strengths of your team will help you create better work;
  • How to build your marketing team based on strengths;
  • Stan and Laura reveal their top five strengths and how they each use them to create the show;
  • What happens when your team does not operate in their “strength zone”;
  • How identifying strengths changed how Laura’s team works; and
  • Why it’s important to have a team with a variety of strengths.
