Who Can You Thank Today?

Today, is my 200th blog post. And, I think it’s pretty darn fitting that it falls on Thanksgiving week.

You see, when I look back on the past three years of blogging, one of the first words to pop into my head is “thankful”.

It’s been a long journey to get where I am today — both personally and professionally. Those of you who have been following this blog for awhile know that I quit my “day job” earlier this year to launch Blue Kite Marketing full time.

It’s been an amazing year. And, I credit my blog, in large part, for helping me accomplish that.

This blog has given me a venue to share my ideas, invite discussion and test theories. And it has given me a platform to build my audience and essentially, grow my business. For all of that, I am truly grateful.

I’m also thankful for you.

Yes, YOU.

I am thankful for every person who stops by here to read one of my posts.

I am thankful for everyone who takes the time to share a comment — even if you disagree when what I have to say.

I am thankful for those who feel compelled to share my content — on social channels or by emailing it to a friend, colleague or boss.

I am thankful for the friendships I have made through this blog. I am thankful for the friends and colleagues who have encouraged me along this journey, and for those who have been kind enough to refer business my way.

And, I’m also grateful for the wonderful clients I have had the pleasure of working with this year.

All of this means a great deal to me and I want you know how much I appreciate it.

I wish I had the ability to thank each of you individually. Some of you, I’ve never met. I may not even know you who you are. (Of course, you could always comment below or email me to introduce yourself!).

Since I can’t, this will have to do. I just want you to know that your time, your attention and your friendship is appreciated.

Who can YOU thank?

During this season of Thanksgiving, it’s easy to rattle of the things we are thankful for. In fact, if you’re on Facebook, you’ve likely seen that people are sharing what they are thankful for each day.

Although that’s a good idea, I would challenge you to thank PEOPLE instead.

Who can you thank each day? Who has made a difference in your life?
Who could use encouragement? Who needs to hear how much you appreciate them?

While this does have business context (thanking customers, employees and business partners is incredibly important), this is just the right thing to do as people.

After all, gratitude is the most amazing gift you can give – it’s free, never runs out and it can make an incredible impact on those around you.

I urge you this Thanksgiving — and all year round — to remember to be thankful.

So, who can you thank today?

P.S. I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Steve! It’s been a pleasure to meet you along the way! Thanks so much for continuing to support my work and spread the word about what I do. I appreciate it so much!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Laura,

Man, 200 posts is quite a feat, so congratulations on that! I’m thankful for every person who stops and reads one of my posts as well 🙂 It’s been a fun trip so far and glad to know you. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Craig. Crazy to believe I’ve written that much. With an average of 600 words a post, I’ve written a book or two by now!

I’m so glad you’re one of the people I’ve met along the way. It’s been fun to be part of your blogging journey also. You’re doing great things, my friend! Keep it up and hope you have a great Thanksgiving as well!
