How to Use Social Media to Get More Testimonials for Your Business

It’s no secret that testimonials are powerful tools for businesses.
It’s a great way to demonstrate your company’s expertise and show that people trust doing business with you.

But now, instead of just getting testimonials the old fashioned way, you can use social media to get testimonials faster and get those recommendations in front of even more people.

So, how can you leverage this for your business? Here are a few ways you can use various social networks to encourage and showcase your testimonials:

Facebook

Here’s what it looks like on
 our company page, for example.

To get this feature, you must have an address listed for your business and you have to check the box that says “show this map on the page.”
Once you’ve done that, anyone who visits your page can see recommendations from others or write their own recommendation .

LinkedIn

If you have a LinkedIn profile, you should be familiar with the recommendations feature. And, they make it super easy to request a recommendation from your contacts.

LinkedIn has also added the ability to get endorsements for your skills and expertise. Although a recommendation is far more powerful, endorsements offer yet another opportunity to showcase your capabilities. Here are some tips for using the endorsements feature.

In addition to getting recommendations on your personal profile, you can also ask for recommendations for your company page. However, you must have added products or services to your company page first. Once you’ve done that, you can request recommendations for each product or service line.

Twitter

Although Twitter doesn’t have a formal recommendation feature, you can still showcase testimonials or accolades.

Twitter gives you the ability to save your favorite tweets. So, why not use that as your personal highlight reel? Every time someone gives you a positive shout out, you can favorite the tweet to keep all of your recommendations in one place.

You can offer up that link for recommendations or pull individual tweets to showcase on your site. Or, if you want to take it one step further, you can even create a widget of your favorite tweets to post on your website.

YouTube

Getting a video testimonial certainly takes a lot more effort, but it is an incredibly powerful way to demonstrate the positive work you’ve done for clients.

At the end of a project, you can set up a time to interview clients about their experience.
You can even make it a value-added for your clients by getting them to talk about their business so they have video that they can showcase on their own website as well.

Pinterest

If you’re going to showcase your work on Pinterest, why not include a testimonial?

You can create a specific board with a portfolio of your work. And, instead of just showing the photo and description, you can also add a quote from the client or customer about their experience with you.

And, if your services aren’t very visual in nature, you could post a photo of the client or the client’s logo along with their testimonial.

These tips just scratch the surface of what’s possible. How are you using social media to get more testimonials for your business?
